About

Nature Hotel ‘Silvia’ was completely renovated in 2015, the place is unique with its climate, fresh air and lots of sunny days during the year. The location where the building is situated was chosen back in 1942 by German specialists who had been exploring the area for three month.
They were conducting a research of the location as they were looking for a place offering the perfect combination of a sunny and beautiful landscape combining forest and picturesque green meadows, possibly high outside temperatures as the altitude is 1300 meters, and pleasant natural internal temperature in the building during summertime, because at that time there were no means to regulate the temperature.

The hotel is located at the heart of the second largest Nature reserve in Bulgaria – “Vratsa Balkan” in the northwestern Balkan mountains area “Natura”, which guarantees the purity of the eco region and its climate. Right above the hotel, about 30 minutes walk are three natural lakes and about 30 mins from there – a unique place – a cliff overlooking the canyon from which can be seen in the distance Iskar river and the railway Sofia-Varna.
For the uniqueness of the location and the incredible scenery, proof is the famous Bulgarian poet and writer Ivan Vazov who wrote one of his works -“Grandfather Yotso watching” precisely here. About 200 meters away from the hotel there is a ski slope and lift facility, about 300 meters the most modern sheep and goat organic farm in Bulgaria, where guests can see the animals and taste the delicious traditional and natural organic products. 9 km further, 10-15 mins. by car is the most beautiful and ancient cave in Bulgaria “Ledenika” where you can see beautiful formations – stalagmites and stalactites. There is also a naturally-occurring space in the form of a concert hall with incredible acoustics and even today on certain occasions, symphonic concerts are conducted underground in this hall. Many trails and various popular tourist routes lead to the hotel. The road goes through the beautiful place – “Vratsata” passage and visitors can observe the fascinating “Skaklya” waterfall on the way.
